What we make
A concentrated, syrupy shot from our rotating single-origin. Dark chocolate, roasted nut, and a long sweet finish.
Double ristretto with velvety micro-foam steamed whole milk. The ratio is everything — we don't rush it.
Equal parts espresso, steamed milk, and silky foam. Classic done right. Available with oat or almond for $0.75 extra.
Two ounces of espresso cut with two ounces of warm milk. No frills, no foam. Just balance.
Our most popular. A generous 12 oz with two shots and steamed milk. Comforting and clean — no sugar syrups unless you ask.
A single espresso "marked" with a small dollop of foam. Simple, bold, and often underrated.
Made to order, one cup at a time. We ask how you take it before we grind. Rotating origins from our partner roasters.
18-hour steep, undiluted and smooth. Served over ice, straight or with cream. No bitterness, no compromise.
Double shot over ice with your choice of milk. Best enjoyed fast before the ice does the work for you.
Brewed fresh every 45 minutes. Ask the bar what's in the pot — it changes every day and they love talking about it.
Laminated in-house every morning. Golden, shattery on the outside, airy within. Limit two per person before 9 am — seriously.
Sourdough from She Wolf Bakery, smashed avocado, Maldon salt, chili flake, lemon. Add a poached egg for $2.
Brown butter, dark rum, and a generous dusting of turbinado sugar. Warm from the oven until 11 am.
House-toasted oat and pecan granola with whole-milk Greek yogurt, seasonal fruit, and a drizzle of local honey.
Espresso with house-made lavender syrup, local wildflower honey, and steamed oat milk. Floral and delicate — our top seller this month.
Spring Special
Ceremonial-grade matcha over steamed oat milk, with a single ristretto shot floated on top. Earthy, bold, surprising.
New
Espresso with cardamom-spiced whole milk and a dash of rosewater. Warm, fragrant, and perfect at any hour.
Limited RunOur story
Groundwork opened in 2018 with a single La Marzocca Linea, a used record player, and a stubborn belief that Williamsburg needed a coffee shop that was just as serious about the room as it was about the cup.
We source directly from farms in Colombia, Ethiopia, and Guatemala — visiting at least twice a year. Every bag we buy is traceable to a specific lot and a real person.
The baking happens at 5 am. The music is always analog. The Wi-Fi password is on the board behind the bar. Come as you are.

What regulars say
"The flat white here ruined every other flat white for me. I don't say that lightly. I've been coming every weekday morning for two years and they still get it right every single time."
Marcus R.
Williamsburg, NY
"I work from here at least three times a week. The vibe is right — never too loud, never too quiet. And the banana bread before 11 am is a non-negotiable part of my life now."
Sofia A.
Bushwick, NY
"The seasonal menu is where they really shine. I had the cardamom rose latte on a whim and ended up sitting there for three hours. Staff are genuinely kind, not just professional."
